Solsticio

Games like LinkedIn Tango

Tango is LinkedIn's daily sun-and-moon logic puzzle: fill a 6×6 grid so every row and column has as many suns as moons, never three alike in a row. When today's board is done, the closest match is Solsticio — same symbols and rules. For the classic binary puzzle, try 0h h1, Unruly, BinaryPuzzle.com or Binox. All free.

Why Tango feels familiar

Tango is a new face on an older puzzle. The binary puzzle — known as Takuzu, or Binairo, the version Belgian authors Peter De Schepper and Frank Coussement created in 2009 — shares Tango's two core rules: balance every line and never put three identical symbols side by side. LinkedIn launched Tango in October 2024 with suns and moons instead of 0s and 1s, plus = and × signs between cells. So any Takuzu-family game feels like home. More on its names and history: what is Takuzu.

Questions

Is there a Tango unlimited? LinkedIn's Tango is one puzzle a day: a new one is released at midnight Pacific Time, and LinkedIn's help centre says previous puzzles expire. For more boards with the same rules, Unruly generates a new puzzle on demand, 0h h1 has free play at five sizes, and the Solsticio app has hundreds of levels plus a Zen mode with fresh boards.
Is Solsticio the same as Tango? Same puzzle family, same core rules — suns and moons, balanced lines, no three in a row, = and × on the app's later levels — but an independent game, not affiliated with LinkedIn. Its daily is a free 6×6 without = or ×, playable in the browser or on Android with no account.
Can I play Tango without LinkedIn? Tango lives on LinkedIn, but LinkedIn says you can play its games in guest mode, without an account; your score is kept for 30 minutes and you can't keep a streak. To skip LinkedIn altogether, the other games here use the same logic under different names.
How do I get better at Tango-style puzzles? Look for pairs: two identical symbols side by side force the opposite at both ends, and a one-cell gap between two identical symbols holds the opposite. Then count: once a line has its quota of one symbol, the rest are the other. Treat = and × as links that carry a known symbol along. Read the step-by-step guide.
Which alternative is closest to Tango? For the same look and the = and × clues, Solsticio. For classic rules with the no-identical-rows twist, 0h h1 or BinaryPuzzle.com. For endless random boards, Unruly. For paper, KrazyDad's Binox.
